In November of last year I began work on this piece, tentatively titled "Ice Queen", and it just fizzled out for me, swept aside by other projects. I still really love the concept and plan to revisit the piece next fall/winter.

ABCs of Boredom
Heather and I will often sketch little drawings when we're watching TV... passing the notepad back and forth and making up rules as we go. Sometimes we'll play Hangman or Tic Tac Toe... sometimes we'll go with a theme. On this particular evening, we were both feeling sick and to entertain ourselves, we started our personal ABC drawing.
We alternated letters... Heather started us off with "A is for Apple (iPod)" and I ended with "Z is for Zeb" (Heather's military brother). There's definitely artistic license in some of our interpretations... our purpose was mainly to make each other laugh and we definitely achieved that! :)

Sunday Sketches 10/10/10
This Sunday I thought I would share the original pencil sketch of my Sleepy Hollow drawing - "The Last Moments of Ichabod Crane". I debated leaving this one in pencil, and finally decided to add color, for a more dramatic and spooky feeling in the piece.

Sunday Sketches 9/26/10
I used to entertain myself by drawing elaborate working mazes. I've got a whole folder of them... here's just one. Click the picture to see the larger version... go ahead, give it a shot! :)

Sunday Sketches
I have folders and drawers and portfolios full of art drawings that I've done over the years. Many are unfinished, many more will be never be finished, but I keep them. They serve as a kind of record of where and who I've been, both as an artist and personally.
I decided to share some of these sketches on the blog every Sunday... my Sunday Sketches. I hope you enjoy them! :)
